It’s time for Fine Art School Portraits!

I’m not sure how summer is already coming to a close, but here we are….a little over 2 weeks away from the first day of school! Don’t get me wrong, I actually do love Back to School season. All of those freshly sharpened pencils and notebooks without creased pages! Cute first day of school outfits! The excitement of Meet the Teacher night! (Hurray for real live, in-person Meet the Teacher nights again!)

And, of course, another one of my favorite Back to School traditions are my Fine Art School Portrait sessions! I LOVE these sessions! Many of the kiddos I photograph are repeat customers (many times over!), so I’ve had the pleasure of seeing them grow up through the years in timeless and beautiful portraits that reflect their unique personalities! I see how they change from year to year - from shy toddlers to outgoing preschoolers to elementary aged big kids! I just love it!

Parents and kids love these sessions, also, because they’re easy, fast and fun! I let the kids know right away that they don’t have to “say cheese!”, but rather, we can talk and have fun while we take pictures. My goal is always to capture their unique personalities even when (actually, especially when!) they might be a little more shy and reserved or unsure of having their picture taken. I love portraits that speak to who the child is at this age - I think they’re most beautiful when they look like themselves!
